IN THE DETAILS

I couldn't sleep last night so around 4 o'clock in the morning, I decided to finally organize my desktop. I usually keep it clean and tidy but somehow over the past couple weeks I've managed to save over 1500 photos to my desktop. Oops. Total mess. Anyhow, as I was sorting out the photos, I came across these stunning detail shots from the Yohji Yamamoto F/W 09 runway show. I'll let them speak for themselves.
If you need even more of a Yamamoto fix, you absolutely must watch this. Seriously, right now.

UNIFORM

gap sweater, altered levi's jeans, bruno magli oxfords
Here are some crappy photobooth shots of what I’ve been living in the past few days. Mostly why I haven't posted a proper outfit photo in ages is that I'm literally wearing the same things over and over. My recent traveling has made me realize just how much I enjoy living out of a suitcase. There’s something very comforting about having only a few things to wear. One dress, three tops, one pair of shorts and two pairs of shoes- the same options for a week.

Anyway, since I've come to this realization, I’ve decided to get rid of even more of the excess in my wardrobe. I'm still working toward my goal of having an efficient, wasteless wardrobe and to get there I gotta keep on trimming that fat. Check out Shop Childhood Flames if you're interested in giving these clothes the lovin' they deserve. There are a couple items that are going to be very hard to part with, but it would be worse if I just let them sit in the back of my closet.

NOMENUS QUARTERLY

This morning I came across Nomenus Quarterly, an incredible publication that exists both online and in print. Here are some beautiful photos from their Dries Van Noten editorial that I just had to share. All photos by Erik Madigan Heck for Nomenus Quarterly.

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY

These LD Tuttle's are the latest addition to my shoe family. I purchased them a couple weeks back but somehow I never got around to posting them despite having worn them several times already. I absolutely love the shape of the heel and they are surprisingly lightweight. I was actually concerned the wrong shoes had been sent when I picked the box up from our porch.

Anyway, I'm off to Hawai'i with the family tomorrow. See you in a week! :)

HARPUTS MARKET

While in San Francisco, I stopped by Harputs Market, where Gus gave me a look behind the scenes as well as showed me a bunch of new prototypes for their Harputs Own line. Stay tuned... ;)

san francisco

forever 21 shirt and cardigan, thrifted pants, target sandals
I failed to take any proper outfit photos of myself (let alone any regular touristy photos) while in San Francisco, but Helen remembered to get a group shot when we went out for ice cream and thrifting along with two of the Chictopia interns, Nancy and Wendy. Laziness + Yohji Yamamoto inspiration = comfy grandpa steez?

Also while in SF, I got lunch with Lulu and Annabel at Zuni's. So yummy, it's a shame I forgot to take food photos.

Photo of myself listening intently to Lulu mid-lunch stolen from Annabel.

ps. Hello to the handful of adorable readers to recognized me while I was in SF. It was nice to (very briefly) meet you. :)

Leaving for San Francisco in the morning. Returning Saturday night.
I'll be back to blogging consistently when I get back. Pinky swear.
